Anti-Money Laundry laws exist for quite some time yet they are barely being applied correctly. In the EU where it became mandatory since 2016 for every real estate professional, it's estimated that only less than 9% of Real Estate businesses are compliant throughout Europe. To tackle this issue, a 6th revision of this European law was completed and rolled out on 1/1/2025. Hence the European Commission is one of the most important stakeholders to a European compliance solution. The Directive will change into a Regulation effective 10/7/2027, whereas the rules are identical to all EU member states. The Regulation adds over 50 articles, making it even more complicated to comply.

To enable compliance to this law, which is changing from being a Directive to a Regularisation this year (effective 10/7/2027), CEPI commissioned OptimaSys in an exclusive agreement to develop, issue, and maintain the first European Anti-Money Laundry tool, which is will be launched at the beginning of 2026. This initiative, both driven by CEPI and the EU, enables businesses to comply and avoid legal issues with serious financial consequences.

UPDATE: Immosurance, the first European Anti-Money Laundering solution for the Real Estate industry, made by OptimaSys in collaboration with CEPI and the European Commission, was officially launched on 24 of March 2026 in De Warande, Brussels. The event was organised by CEPI and marks the first sectorial solution for any sector worldwide in terms of Anti-Money Laundering solutions.
